Cobalt Tales

Somewhere between Dylan and Mary Chapin Carpenter you'll find Cobalt Tales! Good stuff!

- R. Sandland, Tamworth

‘The calibre of their songwriting is second to none on the folk circuit...

… In only 5 pieces of music (they) set their stall out and the audience bought it!

– H. King, At The Barrier

Singer-songwriters, Cobalt Tales, are a vibrant, entertaining, female duo based in Sheffield; originally from Wigan and Stockport, (via The NW Highlands of Scotland),

Through a wide variety of styles, (ballad, country, folk, rock, soul and a capella), Pat and Nuala, follow threads through the tales of lives and ancestry, singing of people, places, events and experiences that have made us who we are.

Expect compelling, soulful vocals, warm, acoustic guitar and plaintive harmonica, nifty rolling bass and swingy scat, dramatic a capella harmonies, haunting low whistle and entertaining banter. They deliver

'music from the heart that stirs the soul'

to build a warm relationship with the audience bringing joy and spirit to their performance.

Best lockdown new find

P. Monks, Wurzel Bush Folk Club

They are a talented pair that play the most lovely original music. I sat and smiled right through their set.

Harmonies are gorgeous, supersoft... Well done!

- Edwina Hayes, Singer-songwriter

Homespun humour and great tunes. Cobalt Tales are people-people people! The breadth of styles is unexpected too. Loving the album, 'Ever Changing Blue'... Sets up a relaxed mood to be savoured.

- Paul Quinn, Founder and lead guitarist of Saxon
